Who are the new owners of Excalibur?

Lighthouse Property Insurance Corporation acquired Excalibur National Insurance Company on April 30, 2019. Excalibur is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Lighthouse. 

Who is Lighthouse? 

Lighthouse Property Insurance Corporation is a property insurance carrier with strong Louisiana roots. It’s where we wrote our first ever insurance policy when we launched in 2008 and is a community we have continued to serve for over 10 years. 

Currently, Lighthouse is headquartered in Texas and holds an A (Exceptional) rating from Demotech. For more information on Lighthouse and its Louisiana-based history, please visit here.

Who do I call if I have a policy question?

All premium payments, questions, and changes should continue to be directed to your agent or the Excalibur customer service team. Our contact information will remain the same, which we have included below for reference. As a customer, you may also view the details of your policy by accessing the customer portal here

Will my policy or coverage change? 

No, your policy will remain active, as is, and no changes will be made. 

Will my payment options remain the same? 

Yes, your payment options will remain the same. 

What do I do if I have an active claim and/or need to file a new claim immediately?

The claims process has not changed. If you have an outstanding claim or need to file a new one, please contact your Examiner or Adjuster. For all other claims related inquiries, please contact claims@excalins.com or call us at 1-888-987-3598.

Will my premium change?

Prior to Lighthouse’s acquisition, a rate filing was approved by the Louisiana Department of Insurance and should take effect as of July 15, 2019. With this filing, many Louisiana homeowners are expected to see a rate increase. 

When will I know the renewal premium?

Renewal offer letters are mailed out 60 days prior to the expiration date of your policy.

Can I keep my agent?

Yes, you can keep your current agent. Independent agents are important to Lighthouse and Excalibur.  Your agent should be your primary resource for additional questions.
